Okay...

This is one of those things that *seemed* like a good idea at
the time. I was sitting at work yesterday, listening to my new
CD - Trisha Yearwood's "Songbook" - when I heard "She's In Love
With The Boy" come on. I guess I must not have been paying too
much attention, because I mistook "Jonny" for "Tommy", and the
rest went downhill from there!

Anyway, submitted for your approval:

Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters, I'm just borrowing
them for a little while. No money is being made, this is just for fun,
okay????

"SHE'S IN LOVE WITH THE BOY"
with a wee bit of lyrics-tampering
by Susan "Suze" Howe

Jessie's sittin' on the Quest's front porch
Watchin' ol' Bandit run around
There ain't a whole lot goin' on tonight
The villains have gone underground

Over yonder comin' up the road
On a beat-up hoverboard
Her boyfriend Jonny tries to show-off for his girl
But ends up trippin' on a cord

Her Daddy says he ain't worth a lick
When it comes to brains he got the short end of the stick
But Jessie's young and, man, she just don't care
She'd follow Jonny anywhere

She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
And no matter what her Daddy has to say
She's gonna marry that boy someday

Jessie and Jonny down at Camden harbor
Walkin' in moonlight by the bay
They're too busy holdin' onto one another
To notice Hadji slip away

Later on outside the Smilin' Cow
Jonny slips somethin' on her hand
"My Captin' Atominizer ring will have to do
'Til I can buy a wedding band"

Her Daddy says he ain't worth a lick
When it comes to brains he got the short end of the stick
But Jessie's young and, man, she just don't care
She'd follow Jonny anywhere

She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
And even if they have to run away
She's gonna marry that boy someday

Race waits up until half past twelve
When they come sneakin' up the walk
He says "Ponchita, get on up to your room
While me and Junior have a talk"

Benton breaks in, says "Don't lose your temper
Come on just let it go
Yelling at Jonny sure won't get you very far
Now you know that this is so

I know you've said that he ain't worth a lick
When it came to brains he got the short end of the stick
But, Race, they're in love, and just as plain as day
They're gonna do it anyway!"

She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
What's meant to be will always find a way
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
Her Daddy fine'ly gave up saying "nay"
Now they're gonna be married next May!

*****************************************************************

I suppose I could have been a lot crueler (or more twisted - *believe*
me, I thought about it!), but I'm a J&J HR at heart, so I had go with the
happy ending! Although, I think Jonny managed to come off as being
pretty stupid...

BTW, in case you're wondering, Camden is the town next to Rockport
and, yes, there is a store called the Smiling Cow (gifts and Maine
souvenirs).

Also, I have to apologize to Winnie - I borrowed the Captain Atominizer
ring without her permission. I'm sorry! I'll give it back, I swear!!!!

And I have to really, *really* apologize to Trisha Yearwood for
mangling her song!

As always, comments, criticism, and feedback of any kind is always
welcome. Send 'em on over to starfox@ultranet.com

Thanks!
