The Island of Dibati

        Jessie looked at the clock.
Eleven o’ clock she thought. She put down her diary. She turned off the
lights and went to bed. Meanwhile in the lighthouse Hadji and Jonny were
still playing Questworld.
“Jonny, don’t you think we should be getting to bed?” asked Hadji,
yawning.
“In a minute, Hadj. I’ve almost beat level four. I just gotta...”
"Boss approaching!" warned Iris, the computer’s memory.
Jonny hovered into a deep chasm filled with ice. The ice started to
crack and out of it came a giant eel. The eel snapped at Jonny, but the
flexible boy dodged. He took out his sword and jumped onto the eel. Then
he ran the sword through the giant worm’s head.
“Awwagh!” it yelled.
"You have completed level four."
“Jonny, I am now pulling you out of Questworld!”

The laser on Jonny’s visor disappeared.
“ I think if we stayed up any later your dad would kill us!” remarked
Hadji.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
Jonny entered his room and Hadji entered his. Jessie’s room was placed
in-between the boys’. Jonny fell asleep instantly, while Hadji did some
late night meditation (which Dr. Quest let him do). He heard a creak in
the door.
It must be Race he thought. Then Race entered Jessie’s room. Hadji heard
a WHAM! That could not be Race! Hadji, overcome with curiosity, snuck
into Jessie’s room. Upon stepping in the room he was pelted with beenie
babies.
“Hello.” said a dark figure, the one who dropped the babies.
The the figure punched Hadji in the nose. At that moment Jessie woke up
and saw what was happening.
“Jonny! Help!”
Jonny zoomed into Jessie’s room. Her window was broken and Hadji and
herself were gone. Jonny ran into Race’s room.
“Race, wake up! Hadji and Jessie are gone!”
Race hopped out of bed.
“What happened?” he asked.
“Idaknow, I guess there was I fight or something, I could hear the
punches. And then Jessie cried for help, but by the time I got there
they were both gone!” repkied Jonny.
“Well let’s check Jessie’s room.”
Inside was a note that said:
If you ever want to see your friends again come the island five miles
directly south of Madagascar. Just you, Jonny Quest. If you bring anyone
else the girl and your indian friend die.

“I think this guy means buisness, Race! Tell dad the story, I’m
leaving for that island right now!

Jonny docked his ship on the mysterious island. Even though Race told
him not to, he took a gun for protection. A man in a large coat walked
up to him. Jonny couldn’t see his face.
“Jonny Quest. I know why you are here. Your friends are in danger. Take
this diamond. You will find it’s use later.”
Jonny took the diamond.
“I appreaciate it, but how do you know who I am?”
The man laughed.
“Patience, my boy. You will find out later...”
The man dissapeared.
“Wow. Spooky.”
Jonny looked at where the man was standing. There was a name carved in
the ground. Zee Layon. Jonny walked to a phone booth and looked the name
up in the yellow pages. He had a buisness called Dibati Research Center
on 867 South Street. Jonny walked to that building.
“Hello?” he called.
“Who’s there?” answered a voice.
“My name’s Jonny Quest. I’m looking for my freinds Hadji Singh and
Jessie Bannon.”
“While why don’t you come get them!”
A dark haired scientist walked in front of Jonny and through him into a
weird looking chair. Jonny saw Hadji and Jessie chained to the wall.
“Let us go you creep!” cried Jessie.
“Ha! First let me have your power. You see, boy, that’s the whole reason
you’re here. I need power from a young teen and I thought why not take
it from the most famous kids in the world. And here I am to do it.
Finally, I will have enough power to make my clones. No more ‘you’re not
good enough Zee’ or ‘you’re the worst worker ever Zee!’ I will finally
get my revnge!”
“Not so fast!” yelled Jonny.
He pulled out his gun, but Zee kicked it away. But that didn’t stop
Jonny. He hit the scientist.
Jonny finally relized he wouldn’t win.
“You can have me, but let my freinds go.”
Zee let Hadji go.
“Jessie too.”
“Why? You don’t like the girl, she get’s in everybody’s way! Why do you
need her?”
Jonny nailed Zee on the wall.
“She means more to me than anything else. Now let her GO!”
Jessie’s heart leaped. She didn’t know she ment that much to Jonny. Zee
let her go. But when he turned, the three teens surronded him.
“Ready for jail?”

Jonny still didn’t know what to do with that diamond. He obviousley
didn’t need to use it. Jessie walked over to Jonny.
“Jonny, did you really mean all that - you know, about me meaning more
to you than anything else?”
“Well, um, yes.”
Jessie smiled.
“I love you.”
